Rye Ridge Shopping Center, Plaza and South are excited to announce that The Therapy Nest has signed a long-term lease renewal for their boutique therapy clinic and sensory gym located in Rye Plaza.

The Therapy Nest was conceived and founded by local mom and Occupational Therapist Rachel Fleming (MS,OTR/L) in 2015. It was so well received by the community, they quicky expanded in 2019 and now have several therapists working with Rachel.

What is Pediatric Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy is a health profession in which therapists help people participate in the meaningful, age-appropriate activities that make up their daily lives (i.e. their “occupations”).

From infancy to adolescence, your child’s occupations are constantly changing, from simply feeding, moving and sleeping as an infant to handwriting, following directions and self-regulating as a student—and innumerable other activities before your child becomes an adult.

Our pediatric occupational therapists help your child participate in his or her occupations by:

• recommending task adaptations and environmental modifications
• providing direct therapy to your child at our clinic and sensory gym
• working with you and your child’s caregivers, educators and health professionals to encourage transfer of new skills into appropriate environments

Children love coming to The Therapy Nest, but the nest is so much more than just a fun playspace. The nest was engineered and built to be a unique tool for our therapists to provide your child with the most highly individualized private therapy in Westchester County. 

In our therapy sessions, we strive to create “just right” challenges for your child. Likewise, we designed the nest to be the “just right” size–big enough to include all of the equipment and spaces that our therapists could ever need or want but small enough to be welcoming and never intimidating for your child. 

We’ve also included comfortable waiting areas from which parents and caregivers can observe therapy sessions in our sensory gym.
