SLTamandaToday we feature SLT founder Amanda Freeman. This will be Amanda’s first and last marathon (so she claims). Come out to cheer on Amanda on Sunday and we will be sure to talk to her in a few weeks to see if her marathon chapter is really over. It is not coined the “marathon bug” for nothing. Congratulations Amanda on getting to the starting line and we will see you at the finish!

Your homebase: NYC
Occupation:  Founder and CEO, SLT
# of Marathons: This will be my first (and last)
What led you to sign up for the NYC marathon this year?  I was scheduled to run last year and was very disappointed it was cancelled.  While I am a believer that running that long is bad for the body, I’d grown curious to experience of the highs and lows of the event.
Favorite running route:  Along Mecox Bay in Water Mill, NY
Do you listen to music when you run? If so, what are your top tunes for staying motivated during long runs?  I couldn’t run a mile without music. Favorite songs include: Sexy Can I by Ray J, Ignition by R. Kelly, The Climb by Miley Cyrus, and Heads Will Roll by Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
How do you cross-train?  I do SLT and SLT Yoga.
What do you plan to wear on race-day?  I’m going to wear layers and remove them as I get warm.  I’ll be left with Oakley sunglasses, an orange Nike short sleeve top with my name on it and black Nike capris.
Your during-run nutrition:  Clif Shot Energy Gel in Chocolate and Honey Stinger Energy Chews in Cherry Blossom.
Your post long run indulgence:  A double brunch – eggs and pancakes.
What you are looking forward to most after crossing the finish line?  Hopefully still having a healthy body…and a massage.
