Rye Ridge Deli

ryeridgedeliexteriorThe Rye Ridge Deli as you see it today hasn’t always been the Rye Ridge Deli.  The restaurant was originally opened in the early 1960’s and it was called “The Surry”

The Surry was an old fashioned burger joint that was renowned for a soda fountain and a sit down counter.  The Surry was owned by two brothers from Harrison.  When they sold it, the new owners changed it from a burger joint to a kosher style deli.

They re-named the deli the Rye Ridge Restaurant and a few years later it became Rye Ridge Delicatessen / Restaurant as it is today.  It was sold to today’s owner Harry Martin in 1983.

The deli went through a renovation in 1986 which brightened up the store but retained the same basic layout.

In 2005 the deli was closed for 5 months for a complete renovation and expansion. The look of the Rye Ridge Deli has changed over the years but the core of the kosher style deli remains.

Today the deli specializes in corned beef, pastrami, fresh roasted turkey, and smoked fish.  The menu has expanded over the years to be quite large and has something for everyone.  The deli offers delivery, catering, takeout, fresh desserts, ice cream, great food, appetizing and so much more.
